💡 Summary: We stayed at The Classic Caravan in Pocheon (5/1–5/2, Labor Day holiday) with kids ages 8 and 5. Spacious and clean interior, excellent private BBQ terrace — but watch out for multiple add-on fees: spa (₩50,000), extra guests, charcoal, and firewood are all charged separately.
About The Classic Caravan in Pocheon
The Classic Caravan is located in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, roughly 1 hour from central Seoul. They offer various caravan types including spa caravans and standard caravans, each with a fully separated private terrace — which makes it a popular choice for family trips.
We booked a spa caravan for the Labor Day holiday weekend (May 1–2). Rates during public holiday periods are significantly higher than regular weekdays. Be sure to check the fee breakdown carefully before booking, as there are multiple add-on charges.
Caravan Interior — Is It Big Enough for a Family of 4?
The interior was larger than expected and quite clean. There's a living/dining area with a sofa and wooden table, plus a sleeping area — enough room for four people to move around comfortably.
Living/dining area: sofa + wood table, easy for 4 people to eat together
Sleeping: son (age 8) slept in the upper bunk; parents + daughter slept on the lower double bed
Air conditioning and heating available (useful in early May when it's still cool at night)
Overall clean interior, though kitchen utensils and bathroom hygiene were a bit lacking
Food Prep — Fresh Seafood from Noryangjin Fish Market
Before heading out, we stopped at Noryangjin Fish Market in Seoul and picked up flatfish (gwangeo), skate (hongeo), scallops, and surf clams. Buying directly from the market is much more affordable and fresher than purchasing at the campsite.
We enjoyed the raw fish indoors and grilled the scallops and meat on the outdoor charcoal grill. We also brought pork belly and sausages to round out the BBQ spread for the kids.
Private Terrace BBQ — The Best Part of Caravan Camping
The biggest selling point of The Classic Caravan is the fully separated private terrace. You won't see — or be seen by — neighboring caravans, which makes the outdoor space feel completely your own. Each terrace comes with a table, chairs, and a charcoal grill stand.
Important note: charcoal and firewood are NOT included — you need to purchase them on-site at extra cost. Extra guest fees also apply. Review all add-on charges before booking.
Spa Experience — Is the ₩50,000 Add-On Worth It?
We booked a spa caravan, only to discover at check-in that the spa costs ₩50,000 extra on-site. If you assumed the spa was included in the booking price (like we did), you'll be surprised. Always verify what's included before arriving.
That said, for us it was absolutely worth it — the kids loved it. Our 8-year-old and 5-year-old put on their swimsuits and splashed around in the jacuzzi tub with huge smiles. From a pure adult value perspective, it's questionable, but the kids' happiness made it worthwhile.
Bonfire, Lawn & Kids Zone
After dinner, we sat by the fire and enjoyed a slow evening together — one of those simple moments that makes family camping so special. The wide lawn around the caravans is great for kids to run freely, and there's a dedicated kids zone on-site.
The kids zone has play equipment, but the maintenance was visibly lacking — the equipment was worn and overall cleanliness left something to be desired. There's also an adult billiards table, though between managing two kids, we never got to use it!

FAQ
Is the spa included with a spa caravan booking?
No. 'Spa caravan' means the caravan has a spa facility, but actually using it requires an additional on-site payment of ₩50,000. Always confirm what's included before you arrive.
What age is good for caravan camping with kids?
Age 5 and up works well. BBQ, spa, lawn play, and kids zone activities are all manageable for young children. Our 5-year-old had a wonderful time. For toddlers under 3, pay close attention to sleep environment and safety.
Can I bring my own charcoal and food?
Yes, and it's recommended! Charcoal and firewood purchased at the site come at a premium. Buying your own at a supermarket beforehand will save money. We brought fresh seafood from Noryangjin Market and it made the BBQ dinner extra special.
