💡 Summary: 3-generation family of 5 with 5-year-old twins — 3-night Guam road trip, approx. KRW 5.34M total. Apply ETA at least 1 week before departure.
ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) — Apply Early
A valid ETA is required for entry into Guam. If you are using an air-tel package, the travel agency may notify you very late — ours sent a reminder only two days before departure.
We applied one week in advance, but approval had not come through by Friday morning, so we also applied for ESTA (approx. KRW 30,000 per person) as a backup. ESTA was approved immediately; ETA came through Saturday at dawn.
▶ Common reasons for ETA delay: unclear photo due to fluorescent lighting, non-selfie photos, or photos with glasses.

Self-Drive Travel Tips
Choose a SIM card over portable Wi-Fi — signal was weak at the southern tour area and Ritidian Beach.
Ritidian Beach parking is right at the entrance — very convenient.
Bring a dedicated sand towel to shake off sand before getting in the car.
FAQ
What is the difference between ETA and ESTA?
ETA is required for entry into Guam (US territory). ESTA is for entry into the continental United States. Applying for both gives you a safety net.
Can 5-year-olds go snorkeling?
Yes, with a full-face snorkel mask. The mask covers both nose and mouth, preventing water from entering. Pair it with a life jacket and neck ring for safety.
What is the total budget for a 3-night Guam family trip?
For 3 adults and 2 children (age 5), expect around KRW 5.3M. Using an air-tel package is more economical than booking separately.
