Entering Cloud Hill — Beautiful Natural Surroundings

We visited on Day 2 after checking out of Glam Tamdao glamping. The walk from the parking lot to the entrance was immediately refreshing — wide open mountain views and crisp air. The kids started running as soon as they saw the open fields.

The Kids' Favorite — Animal Feeding

The kids went absolutely wild over the animal feeding experience. Reaching through the fence to hand-feed the sheep directly was so exciting for them — both kids kept begging for more hay. The sheep feeding is included in the base admission price. Alpaca and rabbit feeding uses separate purchased feed.

Meeting the Alpacas

The alpacas were a highlight too — the kids were mesmerized by their fluffy appearance and we got surprisingly close. There's also an 'alpaca walk' experience available for an additional fee. We skipped it this time but it'd be a great add-on for alpaca-loving kids.

Free All-Season Sled — Great Fun for Kids

The colorfully decorated all-season sled ride is completely free! The kids loved it. However, young children who can't ride alone need a parent on the sled with them — which means parents, be ready to use up some energy. After a couple of runs together I was pretty wiped out.

Cloud Hill Bakery Cafe — The View Makes It Worth It

We stopped by the Cloud Hill Bakery Cafe located up on the hillside. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls frame breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and pastures. Honest take: the coffee and pastries are decent but nothing remarkable for the price. But sitting there soaking in that view? Absolutely worth it.

FAQ

Q. How much is admission to Gapyeong Sheep Farm?

A. ₩8,000 standard (₩7,500 advance booking). A package including hay feeding and a drink exchange is ₩13,000. Children under 36 months enter free, and Gapyeong residents get in for ₩4,000.

Q. Is the all-season sled really free? Can toddlers use it?

A. Yes, completely free! Toddlers can use it but need to ride with a parent. Fair warning: after a few runs with a kid on your lap, parents will be exhausted.

Q. Is the Cloud Hill Cafe worth visiting?

A. It's more about the view than the food. The panoramic mountain and pasture views through the floor-to-ceiling windows are stunning. Prices are a bit steep but we don't regret going.

Q. What is there to do for very young children?

A. Even toddlers absolutely loved the animal feeding experience. Handing hay through the fence to a sheep is thrilling at any age! The wide open spaces are also great for simply running around.

Q. What was Part 1 of your Gapyeong trip?

A. The night before, we stayed at Glam Tamdao — a beautifully private fenced glamping site with its own jacuzzi, pool, outdoor BBQ, bonfire pit, and hinoki ball pit. Check out Part 1 of our Gapyeong series for the full review!
