💡 Yeonhwasan in Guri — famous as one of Korea's Top 5 Jjamppong spots. Wide table spacing and plenty of 4+ person tables make it great for families with young kids. Kids loved the jajangmyeon and fried rice, though the jjamppong is on the spicier side. No wait on a Sunday lunch visit!

Atmosphere & Seating
The first floor has spacious table spacing — wide enough to easily fit a high chair without crowding neighboring tables. There are plenty of large 4+ person tables, making it comfortable for families with kids. A private group room on the second floor works well for larger gatherings.
There's a fish tank near the entrance counter that kids immediately run up to. It's a natural entertainer while you wait for food. The restaurant also uses robot serving, which my kids found fascinating.
What We Ordered
We ordered jjamppong, jajangmyeon, fried rice, and tangsuyuk à la carte. I've heard the dim sum and course meals are great too — definitely planning to try the course menu next time.
Jjamppong — Worth the Reputation
The jjamppong is packed with shrimp, squid, mussels, broccoli, and carrots in a rich, deep-red broth. It has a satisfying heat that adults will love, but may be too spicy for young children. I kept it to myself and didn't offer it to the kids.
Jajangmyeon — Kids' Favorite
The jajangmyeon is served dry-style with the noodles and sauce separated. You mix them yourself at the table. The thick noodles coated in savory black bean sauce were a hit with the kids — both bowls were completely finished.
Fried Rice — Hearty and Satisfying
Shrimp fried rice served alongside jajang sauce for dipping. Fragrant, well-seasoned, and a generous portion. Our kid who loves fried rice is always the reason we order this every visit.
Tangsuyuk — Crispy Batter, Dipping Style
The tangsuyuk comes with a light, crispy white batter and sauce on the side for dipping. Clean and not overly greasy — kids enjoyed dipping each piece before eating.
Dining with Kids
Jajangmyeon and fried rice are the go-to kids' orders here. Jjamppong may be too spicy for younger children, and tangsuyuk with dipping sauce is always a hit. High chairs are available.
The default water served is barley tea (boricha). If your child doesn't like it, just ask for plain water when you sit down.
Honest Downsides
Parking is limited — during busy weekend lunch hours, spots can fill up quickly.
Barley tea is served by default — ask for plain water upfront if your child prefers it.
Jjamppong has a decent kick — spice-sensitive kids may need to stick to other menu items.
