Ashley Queens Buffet at E-Mart Namyangju — Honest Review for Families with Kids

Ashley Queens Buffet at E-Mart Namyangju — Honest Review for Families with Kids

Atmosphere & Seating

The interior features a vintage "Gone with the Wind" theme with golden frames, rose-painted mirrors, and classic lighting — very different from your typical buffet. The kids were excited to take photos in front of the large floral mirror. Seating is divided into zones (A–E) and staff assign your table on entry. Tables are spacious enough for 4 with a high chair for toddlers.

Menu Highlights

Meat & Main Dishes

The smoked pork ribs and bacon BBQ station was the crowd favorite. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with a sweet-savory glaze. The fried chicken thighs next to it were crispy outside, juicy inside — our family refilled these twice.

Sushi & Sashimi

Salmon, shrimp, and inari sushi were available. The salmon sashimi was thickly sliced and reasonably fresh. However, arriving after 1pm meant some trays were running low and took a while to be refilled.

Fried Rice & Noodles

Two types of fried rice (kimchi and vegetable) were served in large woks — kept hot and well-seasoned. Good for grandparents and anyone who needs a rice-based option. Japchae and Neapolitan pasta were also available.

Dining with Kids

Our son loaded up on fried chicken, sushi, sweet potato sticks, and dumplings — and was thrilled enough to strike a peace sign pose for the camera. Our daughter went for pasta noodles, dumplings, and fresh juice. The self-serve format is a hit with kids who love picking their own food.

Gold Kiwi Fruit Event & Desserts

During our visit, a seasonal gold kiwi event was running — kiwi, mango slices, and cherry tomatoes were plated fresh. The kids loved these and went back multiple times. The dessert station had chocolate fondue strawberries, brownies, waffles, and ice cream. A definite highlight for the little ones.

What Could Be Better

  • Food replenishment was noticeably slow after 1pm — some trays sat empty for quite a while

  • A slight fishy smell from the fresh fruit station (likely a storage issue) — tip: go earlier for better freshness

  • Menu skews young — the grandparents felt the selection was more suited to younger palates
