₩120,000 per person for a 2-day Gyeongju trip with 5 people — possible with a hybrid car and a card discount at Gyeongju World!
2019 Gyeongju Trip Overview
We visited Gyeongju on July 5–6, 2019 — a group of 5 for 1 night and 2 days. It was rainy season, but we got lucky and had no rain. The downside: daytime highs hit 30°C, which made outdoor activities exhausting.
July Weather & What to Pack
July in Gyeongju means scorching heat and potential monsoon rain. With most attractions outdoors, pace yourself and plan indoor breaks around midday.
Water bottle — stay hydrated
Portable fan — a lifesaver during outdoor waits
Sunglasses & hat — block direct sun
Sunscreen — reapply every time you move
Umbrella or light raincoat — monsoon can arrive suddenly
Real Costs: 5 People, 2 Days
Here's what we actually spent, split between 5 people. We used a card discount at Gyeongju World and saved significantly on fuel with a hybrid car.
Accommodation: ₩147,400 → ₩29,480/person
Transport (fuel): ₩90,420 → ₩18,084/person
Food (meals + snacks + café): ₩243,870 → ₩48,774/person
Entrance fees (Cheomseongdae, Daereungwon, etc.): ₩26,000/person
Gyeongju World: 50% card discount → add ~₩22,000/person
Total: approximately ₩120,000 per person
How We Kept Costs Down
Three reasons this trip was cheap: (1) We drove in one hybrid car, so fuel cost was minimal. (2) No one drinks, so late night snacking was just one fried chicken. (3) We used Lotte, BC, Samsung, Nonghyup, Kookmin, or Hyundai card for 50% off at Gyeongju World.
